With an emphasis on bringing dreams to life, Kathryn Bass is designed for the modern romantic. Soft textures, ethereal volume and dreamy laces are staples in the collection. Pulling from their backgrounds in custom design, the duo behind the collection have designed a bridal line that allows for seemingly endless customizations to bring out the individuality of each Kathryn Bass bride.
Kathryn Bass Bridal was founded in 2015 by two virtual strangers, Kathryn Bass and Kelsey McIntyre. Kathryn was just about to have a baby and Kelsey had just moved to Vancouver when a mutual friend introduced them. Fast forward a few months, and over a cup of coffee, Kathryn asked Kelsey to be her business partner. Kelsey had previously designed a line of women’s wear, along with designing custom wedding gowns in Edmonton, AB. Kathryn had spent 10 years in Vancouver, BC focused on designing custom bridal and formalwear. Together, their experience formed the base of the new company that would see their love of helping a bride find a dress that was uniquely hers become a bridal line that has dressed brides in Canada, the USA, and the UK.
The Kathryn Bass line celebrates that we are all different shapes and sizes by being a size-inclusive line. They have always offered custom sizing, but have expanded their standard size chart to make every bride feel included. Many designers are now offering plus-sized lines, however, Kathryn Bass doesn’t feel it necessary to separate these brides from any other. There is a dress to make every bride feel confident and beautiful and they take pride in being able to help her find it.
Each dress is lovingly made in their Vancouver studio. Kathryn and Kelsey believe that ethically produced bridal can be accessible for all. They also have a showroom for brides in Vancouver to work personally with the designers to create their dream dresses.
